Over 120 people listened to three different growers explain three different direct seed drill and cropping systems at the Clearwater Direct Seeders Tour on June 24, 2008.

Dave Barton of NorthStar Guidance Company (sitting on sprayer) talked about the guidance system that he is using in the high rainfall and steep ground of the Genesee area.

The morning covered three direct seed drills and three systems along with information on precision agriculture and a report on the future of fertilizer products. A convoy of about 70 trucks started at Wolf Farms near Uniontown, WA. which then proceeded to Ed Wolf’s farm across the road then onto a stop at McGregor’s in Genesee followed by a stop to see Russ Zenner, John Hermann, and Kurt Blume’s drill. Lunch was hosted by AGPRO, Bank of Whitman, Northwest Farm Credit Services, Sterling Savings and PNDSA in cooperation with the Clearwater Direct Seeders at the recently renovated Genesee City Park.
