Bring Your Own Soil Samples!
You’ll get the most out of this workshop by bringing samples from your own fields or pastures. For best results:

  • Collect samples from up to 7 inches deep (0–4 inches preferred)

  • Bring about 1 cup of soil per sample — both from your best and worst spots for comparison

  • Air-dry your samples on newspaper or brown paper, then store them in a sealed bag or container at room temperature

  • Frozen samples are fine — just thaw and dry them before the event

  •

  • Tip: End-of-season samples work great, but any time of year works!

Soil Aggregation: A Key Indicator of Soil Health

Discover the Power of Soil Aggregation

Join us for an inspiring full-day workshop with Dr. Kris Nichols, a leading soil microbiologist and expert in regenerative agriculture. This interactive session will take you beyond theory and into the field — helping you understand, measure, and improve your soil’s health.

Soil aggregation — similar to the soil clod or slake test — is one of the most insightful indicators of soil health. It reflects the physical, biological, and chemical balance of your soil and can reveal even short-term changes in management practices.

In this workshop, you’ll:
🌱 Build your own soil sieves and test your own samples
🌾 Learn practical ways to enhance soil aggregation and boost soil function
🔬 See how soil structure connects to regenerative practices that drive long-term resilience and productivity
